Today I worked in the front yard removing parts of old poplar trees that fell during a winter wind storm. It was good to feel the sun's warm caress and to fill my lungs with fresh spring air while I toiled placing debris by the road to be hauled away by any neighbor who is looking for free fire wood.
Two hours later I stood by the road admiring the large, neat stack of wood waiting for its next life journey. My body, however, longing for the comfort of its favorite recliner, reminded me that I had been sedentary all winter and it was time to call it a day. Taking the hint, I put my tools away and headed for the house with a sense of accomplishment and planning out tomorrow's adventure.
I sat prepared for the afternoon activity of writing, but found my mind was set in weekend warrior mode, whirling with thoughts of outdoor work yet to be accomplished. After much negotiation my focus returned to Daeris and her grandmother chatting in a field and writing resumed.
Life is good!
