Threading her arm through mine, Alexa led the way to the lounge. “Tell me about this cat,” she said as we passed by the front door.
“Remember the group of Scottish Wild Cats we gathered and relocated?” I asked.
Alexa nodded her head.
“Well, the old female took a liking to me. At first she would flank me; her in the brush and me on the trail. Then she when became more comfortable, she started reaching out to my consciousness and walked beside me,” I explained.
“How odd; as reclusive as they are, I would have thought that they would keep to themselves,” Alexa said.
“I know. Towards the end she would invite me to sit and share images,” I said turning my head to hide a tear.
Alexa rubbed my arm comfortingly, “You are fond of her?”
I nodded my head trying to gather control of my feelings. “She passed to live with the ancients yesterday.”
“Oh Daeris, I’m so sorry. How did you find out?” Alexa asked.
“She told Xander she needed me to come to her. He thought she needed medical attention so he sent Turin with me. Instead she had a message from the ancients. The kitten is her last and he will remain with me to help me when it is my time to rule,” is said.
