“Who, Turin?” Arandur asked.
“I sent Fallen to find him,” Arandur responded.
“You sent Fallen to find Turin?” I said in disbelief. “You don’t even like Fallen.”
“True, I don’t trust Fallen, but he was only a messenger. It was Turin I wanted to ask a favor of.”
“Why?” I asked incredulously.
“Because even though we all have the gift to communicate with plants,” he started, then looked at Silima and sighed, “some more than others, Turin’s gift is stronger, just like your ability to communicate with animals, Princess. We are expecting guests who require a rare plant and I asked Turin to find some for me.”
“But he’s friends with Fallen,” I protested.
“So are you,” Arandur pressed on, “and I would trust you with anything, just as I would Turin.”
What ever, I thought to myself and went back to shoveling dirt. Some people have to learn the hard way I guess.
