“Daeris are you going to brush your hair until it falls out?” a woman’s voice startled me out of my musings.
“Silima, don’t sneak up on me like that,” I said.
“I’ll remember that knocking on the door, clearing my throat, and calling your name several times constitutes sneaking up on you,” she replied with a chuckle. “Why were you in such deep thought anyway?”
“It was nothing,” I said.
“It didn’t look like nothing to me, sure you don’t want to talk about it?” she asked.
“No, I don’t want to talk. Was there something you wanted Silima?” my tone hardened.
“Xander asked me to come up to see if you were about ready. Guess it’s a good thing too or you’d be meeting your guests in your robe,” she said.
