Anyway, this morning while stretching out sore muscles before feeding the horses I heard the hawk fledglings screeching for their parents. (I'll write another post explaining the Hawk family later.) I walked around the house since the screeching didn't seem to be coming from the nest, and sure enough, there they were perched on our roof...both of them. Usually I'll see one, but rarely both. I ran into the house to grab my camera and tell the family about the happy event. Everyone, especially my grandson who has never seen fledgling hawks, enjoyed watching the chicks watch us. Eventually one privileged us with a demonstration of its flying ability by gracefully cruising to a tree about 100 yards away. Guess it has been practicing :)
Blow is a picture of the pair on our roof. Enjoy.
Life is good!
