Then I found myself having trouble staying focused enough to write and when I could,, I couldn't finishing a scene. I scratched my head and asked myself, "What's up with that?" In an effort to discover what was going on I took out my journal and wrote until I hit the aw-haw moment..
Everyone has goals and most people strive for them; I, however, have not stretched out of my comfort zone to achieve a goal for some time. Add to that that when I was young my parents made fun of me for wanting to be a writer, and it all came clear. I'm one step nearer to the goal line...one step closer to negative feed back, that is scary.
On the other hand, I had college professors suggesting I publish my research papers, acquaintances saying that they love my humorous writing style, and those who hear my stories, encouraging me to write them down.
I guess for me the bottom line is, stay positive, reach for your dreams, and face your fears. Life is more interesting that way.
